ive just nabbed a video of my digicam and its over 1gb in size! Its only 18 minutes long!

currently its got a .mov extension and finder informs me uses some form of JPEG codec. aspect ratio is 848x480.

Can anyone recommend a (prefferably free) video convertor or some other way to reduce the size?

You could try using one of iMovie's codecs. They have really nice ones.

I'm assuming you have iMovie, or you could use Divx Converter.

visual hub did the trick perfectly, thanks for the replies. now down to a much more acceptable 140mb and 700x400
