Today decided to turn my old Windows ME computer into a linux-based fileserver. While the results weren't good, I really liked the whole process of writing the codes for the FTP server and so on (I used an old Linux for Dummies book).

I was wondering what the best thing to learn first is if programming is in my potential future? Would it be basic C or html or something else?

I would probably go into database engineering, as it sounds tempting and pays a pretty penny.

I have a paid internship this summer working with a customs brokerage firm in their IT department helping set up computers and networks.

I'm only 15 and I have a few years to learn before college.

Cheers!

If you want to do database work, then you need to learn SQL. If you start with C, you can learn all the basic constructs that are common to all programming languages and then learn about SQL and how databases work after that.
