What kind of schools? There's iTunes U where numerous university lectures on iPhone development are available free of charge - is that what you're thinking of? You can download those through iTunes.
Also, check out the stickies at the top of this forum - you should find some good info up there.
i guess a better way to word it would be to repair them and things like that. smashed screens that such things, frozen iphones and other plat forms. a local college offers some IT coures
Fixing smashed screens and broken electronics is what an electronics technician does. An IT course provides no relevant training for that.
An electronics tech may be capable of performing some IT tasks, but the training for that would largely be separate from the electronics side. The overlap between the skill sets is probably not much larger than the ability to make Ethernet cables using an RJ-45 crimping tool and a wiring diagram.
