So, after finding out that Home Depot, of all the places, has leather cases for iPhone 12 variants, I decided to take a chance to order one for my 12 Pro Max. These are ProHT brand and, with Home Depot's generous return policy, it was worth trying. Build-quality is pretty similar to Apple's official leather cases. It does feel a bit more slippery than Apple's version. Leather smell is there but only time will tell if these are real leather. Buttons are a bit tight to push; however, they are pretty good. Fit seems very good, except for a very slight gap at the bottom.

Link to these cases: https://www.homedepot.com/s/proht%20leather%20case?NCNI-5. They have PU Leather and Geniune Leather versions for each phone.

Pretty interesting and very similar to the official Apple case.

From the pictures, the ProHT leather looks better than Apples.
No idea how you can tell how leather is better from a picture, but I will say I definitely appreciate the color match of the apple cutout, the black is a bit distracting on the ProHT. Definitely cheaper though than the Apple branded case so thats a plus. I have the Apple SB and its starting to get a nice grip.

It's too bad both have raised lip around camera bump, I thought looking on HD website the ProHT might be flush.

I don't think it'll look as good as prior years if you're going for the patina proud look. We'll see.

These are the same ones selling on amazon and ebay, just different name. I didn't like as they're more thick than :apple:s.

The lip is less prominent on ProHT version. I do wish it was brown and not black though.

In a couple respects, it actually looks better than the OE case.

Do a blind test with the picture of the side button, and ask people which one is the knockoff, and I suspect most people would say the one on the top, with the sloppier finish. It may lack the recess, but is clean and true. The opposite side with volume buttons aren't quite as successful, being askew, but the gap isn't as big as one might expect.

Punching individual holes for the bottom speaker openings is also more ambitious, even if the execution could have better precision.

Ulimately, the ProHT might not be quite as nice overall, but it looks like Inland chose a pretty good supplier for their price point.

I never would have thought Home Depot would be selling iPhone cases. The text of the leather from the website pictures apppears to be more coarse than Apple leather. The Home Depot cases are a great price for someone on a budget.

I wouldn’t want to use MagSafe with the expensive apple leather case unless I want a ring shape imprinted into the leather.

I don’t mind the ring. It is part of MagSafe experience. Also I don’t want to think that I am still using my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

It is part of MagSafe experience.

Seriously? The MagSafe "experience"? I bet if that ring eventually burns a hole through the leather, that would be okay because it is part of the MagSafe "experience", right? Geez. Apple fanboys sure do fool themselves.

On aliexpress, they sell MagSafe magnets for a few bucks. I would imagine you can stick them on the ProHT case to get a MagSafe experience.

I've been using the Apple Leather case since launch day with MagSafe. If I put the case under bright lights I can see a slight circular imprint at certain angles. I can't see anything in day-to-day usage. Not something I'm personally concerned with although I realize some people are more picky than I am.
