Project Fedora: The Return of Tex Murphy

Speaking of Kickstarters.... the Tex Murphy series has a kickstarter as well. They will be supporting Mac right out of the gate, with iPad as a stretch goal if they get extra funding.

If you haven't seen the Tex games before, they are realtime-3D adventure games set in a Sci-fi dystopia. They have a dialog system that was the precursor to Bioware's conversation wheel, and are about 1/2 dialog-driven investigation and 1/2 adventure-type puzzles.

Even better, two of the best games (Under a Killing Moon, and Pandora Directive) run perfectly in DosBox. So you can go grab them from GoG.com and just swap in the OS-X compliant DosBOX to run them.

Pandora Directive is pretty awesome, but I think I played Under a Killing Moon at an impressionable age and it stuck with me. When I discovered gog.com, I bought them all instantly.

I also prefer Pandora Directive...Its really awesome.

A lot depends on which kind of story you prefer. UAKM is very comic that gets serious late in the story (but still comic).

Pandora Directive is a much more serious storyline from the get-go.
 
Tex Murphy! Love the original game. Still got it somewhere. I'll have to dig it out and give it an airing, I think.
 
They play just fine in DOSbox. I kind of went the extra mile and packaged them up in .app bundles with official icons on my machine, though.

I love Twinsen. I completely forgot about those games.
