Projector connected to iMac

Hi guys,
please let me know how can I use the projector (epson...) with my mac, so that when I have it connected and powered on, I want to see only the image THROUGH the projector. I would like that the main screen, turn blank or black. Is that possible?
My system is an iMac 27 and the Lion of the mountain... 🙂

Just turn your iMac screen brightness all the way down.

Though it will never shut off like on mobile Macs, unless the more modern ones (after the 604 ones) do that now. I am still a bit behind on current Mac hardware, they still have iBooks, don't they?

FYI, imac's wont go 0% even with the brightness all the way down, like the laptops. i Have my imac display always at "minimum" and its still bright as a normal display. Cranking it to full is "too much".
