I know many folks have a habit of turning on low power mode all the time but promotion is also turned off when that is on.

No. That is disabled as soon as it's on.

You can disable 120 Hz when low power mode is off, however.

In Low Power mode ProMotion is still active, it is limited to 60 Hz instead of 120 Hz. In other words, ProMotion ramps up to 60 Hz and down to 10 Hz in Low Power Mode.

The other thing Low Power mode does is shut down the 2 performance cores and down clocks the 4 efficiency cores from 1.8 GHz to 1.37 GHz.

I'm happy to read low power mode downclocks and disables cores, hopefully that will help witht the temperature.

Hopefully someone will make a tool or find a Terminal command that enables 120hz in low power mode.

I only turn on low power mode at night so some apps don't constantly drain power as I sleep. I can't stand low power mode while using the device so it's off during the day. I really should set up an automation to do that...

In low power mode the frame rate is limited to 30 fps. If you don't believe me, check the rates on the testufo.com
