i got an email telling me there is a problem with my payment info and to update on my iOS device by goring to settings, taping my name and then “payment and shipping” and finally “payment method”.
Doing that on my iPhone (trusted device) displayed a message that I needed to enter the code displayed on my iPad (also trusted device). That worked, but I thought that was odd since my iPhone is a trusted device. I tried going to “payment method” on my iPad and got a prompt that I needed to enter my device passcode.
There is no prompt to update the billing info in the App Store settings, though I have a separate Apple ID for the App Store and iCloud.
Any idea why my trusted iPhone required a code from my iPad, but my iPad only required entering the passcode?
