Because one is aimed at an individual who isn’t a member of the forum, whereas the other is deliberately trolling other forum members.
How do you know Donald Trump is not a member of the forum? How can we have one that trolls the president, but not makes fun of the other side?

If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out.

Because nobody here has that incredibly low-IQ way of failing to pull a sentence together :p

The targets of the threads aren’t at all equivalent is what I’m getting at. One thread is focussed on a terrible game show host with an awful combover, the other trying to tarnish a large group of people with a very wide brush.

I don’t get it. Why people join a site about Apple products but spend all their time arguing about poltitics. Then they complain like children on a playground when their post gets deleted but others posts stay.

It’s really, really sad.

While I get the separation concept... member vs. celebrity...

I agree that if it’s against the rules to ridicule a person, then it shouldn’t matter who that language is directed at.

Member or nonmember... if certain words or attacks are not permitted, then it shouldn’t matter whether I say it about you, a moderator, Tim Cook, Hillary Clinton, or Trump.

Either enforce it 100% or not at all.

I disagree with the ‘Thread title.’ I rarely ever participate in Threads like this, [I’m not registered on any other websites and I don’t have any social media accounts, this is the *only* tech site that I frequent], if it was not for the moderator support, I would not participate on this site. I think they do an excellent job in help maintaining The order in utilizing the best judgment they have with reports that are submitted or concerns they come across.

I Think the moderators excerise a lot of discretion, which might be expressed differently, but they work together as a unit discussing concerns or the best course of action how to handle concerns. A website of this magnitude has a significant amount of responsibility they put in _pro-bono_, which I commend all of them for their due diligence. In short, I thank all the moderators for all they do for this site and keep up the good work.

I agree that they do a great job. I think the point is that an attack, slander, negativity, and degradation are the same regardless of who it’s aimed at.

Right, but being the moderators work as a team and as a unit together correlating with moderation decisions/duties, I don’t agree with the ‘thread title’, which is why I input my opinion.

True... I agree the title is wrong.

The moderators do a pretty decent job. But the rules that govern the site should be universal when it comes to appropriate language and hate speech.

If I can’t call you a particular name, then I shouldn’t be able to use that term to degrade anyone. The code of conduct should be universal regardless of who we are targeting with hate speech.

Dude, get off of your soapbox and stop looking at the site through the lens of politics (liberal vs. conservative) and instead look at the site through the lens of the forum rules. Only then you'll see there is no bias, or evidence of bias on the behalf of the staff.

The methods, procedures and rules have been explained to you and all of us numerous times. The staff do not moderate on the basis of political leanings.

Then please explain to me why one is wastelanded and another is not! This makes my case looks night and day!

I agree - Either both need to be wastelanded, or none of them need to be wastelanded - which is what I think you were implying.

With respect, this very title of this thread - let alone the content - runs the risk of coming across as somewhat intemperate in tone.

Personally, I would recommend that the thread title be amended to something on the lines of "Perception that Moderators May be Biased".
