I noticed that Mac OSX comes with tapping disabled for the trackpad in the macbook pro. Instead, you're suppose to use the corner lower left or right for left and right click and also, the trackpad is supposed to be pressed on instead of tapped.

So, is this the proper way? I often have to drag windows, or click and I find that tapping is faster and more intuitive than pressing the trackpad.

I tap and click. There is no "proper" way; just whatever way works best for you.
