This is the dilemma I am having.

For many hip-hop/rap songs you probably know a lot of the tracks have featuring artists etc. The problem is when i sync to my iphone/ipod and sort by artist, instead of saying for example kanye west it'll have 'kanye west' 'kanye west, jay z' 'kanye west & bon iver' etc etc.

Is there anyway to fix this? I tried setting compilation on, sort artist, I just dont know what I'm missing

Yes, I don't know the reason for the rage in recent years to have so many songs "featuring" a string of names. My personal method is to change the artist to the primary artist only, then append to the song name "(w Soandso & Suchandsuch)". Then I make sure everything after the "(w" doesn't appear in the Sort Name field. I can still find songs that featured someone with a simple search, but it keeps my library better organized, without 60 variations in the Artist field.

Remember that to keep albums sorted together, the following fields must have matching data for all tracks:
    • Album
    • Album Artist
    • Sort Album
    • Sort Album Artist
