I've had the 15" 2018 MacBook Pro since launch and it is the best computer I have ever had - no issues whatsoever. I am aware from following MacRumors that some others have had significant problems with the 2016-2018 MacBook Pros and maybe I have just been lucky with this computer, but to date I find it amazing and I love it. I do have Apple Care that will hopefully take care of any problems that may come up.

That seems a bit dramatic. Windows 10 has worked flawlessly for me, something I can't say of any of the recent macOS releases.

I use it daily for work. I hate it. I'll admit most of that isn't Microsoft's fault but rather on my draconian IT dep.

It's just hilarious to me how many people are still recommending to put down thousands of dollars for these faulty devices.

AASP tech outlining all of the issues of the MacBooks, stating that it's inevitable for the problems to keep resurfacing (Even after getting it "fixed" through Apple): https://old.reddit.com/r/apple/comm...hind_macbook_pros_stage_light_effect/eepf7j9/

(I hate the -gate titles) The already well known issue of the display cable getting worn out:

And of course the keyboard issues that are starting to pop up in the 2018 MacBooks.

I didn't even bring up the T2 chip issues. Seriously, the mental gymnastics to purchase these faulty products.
The Verge??? LMAO

One of the most fear mongering tech sites around. They consistently use ridiculous over the top click bait titles. When was the last time they put out a positive article about anything, let alone a review for something electronic. Everything is always a disappointment to them.

Your anxiety must be through the roof reading a site like that and is proven for this thread you’ve created.

Ps. I have a 2018 13 i7 and it’s easily the best computer I’ve ever owned.

Yeah that's often the case. In fact, pretty much any time I use any corporate/school/other people's Windows machines it's utter misery.

However, on my own builds with things set up the way I like, it's exceptionally good.

That definitely goes both ways. PC's and Macs. I don't know what it is, but you come across those situations where they seem to be able to take perfectly good computers and make them run like crap.

On my part , i really just can't go back to Windows anymore. That's why I finally got my new 2018 13inch MBP two weeks ago. I actually read up on the possible issues that surround this laptop (i.e. keyboard failure, kernel panics, etc.), but i just decided that I couldn't let the fear of what may happen in the future, hinder me from upgrading on my old laptop.

So far i haven't had any problems related to the keyboard, or actually any issues at all so far. I know it's early days, but i'm really happy with my purchase, and I know it's an unpopular opinion here, but I really like the butterfly keyboards in terms of functionality, although I can't comment yet in terms of reliability*knocks on wood*.

I prefer macOS over Windows, so there's that. I also only buy used macs off craigslist, like my latest purchase of a mint 2016 15" macbook pro (2.7ghz, 512 ssd) for $1400. More than plenty fast for my usage. The keyboard had a couple of mushy keys, but since the original owner never fixed it, I had it repaired for free along with a brand new battery since they had to replace the top case. Took only 4 days including the day I dropped it off the Apple Store to get the laptop back.

Could I be saving a little bit of money by buying a Razerblade or Dell? Yes. Is it worth using Windows and losing Apple's excellent customer support? No way. Good luck with any other company's customer support.
