I've been trying to play around with ProRes today, and I discovered that ProRes HD 60fps seems to be "broken" on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (running iOS 17.1.1). It only shows a blurred picture of what the camera was previously showing in another video mode.

If I change it to ProRes 4K 30fps, or HD 30fps, it works. It doesn't matter if it's HDR, SDR or Log. Regular (non-ProRes) video modes work. I already tried to reboot, of course, and I even tried attaching external storage: no difference. Using the front camera it also works.

I don't remember if this worked on an earlier iOS version or not, as I don't really need ProRes. So I'm not sure I wanna go through the trouble of restoring the iPhone to see if that fixes it. It's still annoying to know it doesn't work.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I found the issue: if under Settings -> Camera -> Record Video I set "Enhanced stabilization" to On, it works. If I turn it Off, it doesn't work anymore.

Yep! You sir have seemingly found a bug I think, lol.
Seeing the same behaviour when turning off Enhance Stabilisation…
