Hello Everyone,

I am in a situation where I have some Prores files that I need to convert to .avi's using either huffy, lagarith, or cineform. Using FCP I was able to render out a cinepak .avi, but it took over a day. What is the quickest and easiest way to convert these prores files to an avi?

Thanks in advance.

avi isn't really a format, it's a container like .mov

where is the video going that you need an avi? you should be able to render out from FCP or Compressor to an avi with an uncompressed codec or DV or whatever you need.

I'm using this stupid proprietary tool that requires input to be in the .avi container with a huffy, lagarith, or cineform codec. I can render out uncompressed but I'm dealing with 2+ hr HD clips, so file sizes and transfer times are an issue with uncompressed.

Any other ideas?
