I am looking to buy a new Macbook pro. I am in the military and going over seas to afghanistan for a year. I just wanted to know if anyone had any good ways to protect and keep sand out of a laptop.
    thanks

hmm sand and innocent tears of Afghani men, women and children, dont mix too well with MacBook Pros.

Take a look here: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/mac_accessories/notebook_cases?mco=MTM3Njk5MjQ its all of the cases and covers available for macbooks through apple.

Personally I would invest in a hard case such as this http://store.apple.com/us/product/T...fnode=MTY1NDA2Ng&mco=MTc5NzIzMTE&s=topSellers

Then id also invest in a carry case such as this to protect it when not in use http://store.apple.com/us/product/H3423LL/A?n=sleeves&fnode=MTY1NDA2Ng&mco=MjAzNDE3NDk&s=topSellers

Hope this helps and hope your tour in Afganistan goes well.

Regardless of how I feel about what we are doing in Afghanistan, I wish you well. I'm at work and can't surf too many shopping sights. I'd search for military grade cases.

Here is one bag I found:

Good luck, be safe, and keep your head down.
