Has anyone that had their screen replaced due to anti-glare coating coming off/staining been able to prevent further damage? Does keeping a microfiber cloth in between the keys and screen prevent scratches/key imprints?

I cut a piece is silk cloth that I use for mine. It’s thinner than a microfiber and non-abrasive.

I don’t have proof for sure that it works. But I had the screen replaced twice on my 2013 MBP and did it after the second replacement and haven’t had a problem since.

So either (a) it helps (b)they have improved the costs or (c) both a & b. Dunno. But either way, I plan to keep doing it. 🙂

Great idea! How long have you had the second replacement?

Mine where both done under Apple Care warranty, so that would put it early 2015

Edit: the reason I went with the silk is that being a natural fabric it is anti-static. I thought it might be a good choice.

I used the cover for my MBP 2016 cover since January of 2017, very pleased with it and when I took delivery of my 15” last month I ordered it in the first few days.

It’s thinner then a microfiber cloth and more fine tight material cloth. It’s also machine washable and I always have something to wipe dust and fingerprints from the screen and keyboard.
