You can change this in the settings.I don’t like about the email app that for left swipe AND right swipe in the email app only an archive action is shown. Totally not my use case. I need „Mark as read“ and delete“ instead😩

If outlook is anyone's preferred desktop email client, they are crazy. It is the kind of software that you are forced to use.The bridge app exists in the first place because proton don't want other companies interacting directly with their systems. The bridge app exists for the most common desktop operating systems. This allows proton to full control over the security of their systems while giving you desktop access to your email through your preferred desktop email application. They could just make you use the web app instead, which would be less convenient. The way things are going with Microsoft Outlook they may just have to do that in the long term.
True, but you're not paying a subscription for the email app. Its a free download. You can also use proton mail free, as there's a free tier. If you want more services and options then you pay for the service.I will not pay for a subscription for an email app.

Interesting comment. Yes to your firstPlease someone that is an expert correct me if I’m wrong.
Proton can read every email is send and received to other email providers right? I mean is someone from Google, Outlook sends an email to Proton mail server SMTP will receive the email in plain text right, then pass it to some sort of spam software, then delivered to dovecot and finally stored in your mailbox which will be encrypted and lost to the ability of being read. But upon arrival and sent the email should be able to be read by Proton. Right?
Also, Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, Adobe and so on they all have paid services as well as free of course. But is people suggesting that they do not read paid customers content? Because Proton also has free services as well.
The other thing I don’t like is how Proton extended his services. I mean, private mail service after Lavabit scandal right I get it. The VPN, then Password service, I don’t think is smart to have all those services in just one provider. Compartmentalization should be your best scenario. So lately, I started to feel doubtful of Proton services.
Cheers
