or maybe your credit card in your cell phone account expired and you didn't notice,
Thanks for that. I've just entered a calendar reminder to ensure I've updated that in a few years.
I like Apple Passwords too, but I keep my 2FA codes separate, just in case iCloud gets hacked and someone gets full access to my accounts.
For now, I'm sticking with SMS 2FA on my locked SIM while I do more research. But yes, I wouldn't want everything in the same app. But I'm also going to weigh the extra security against the possibility that the one I'd be locking out is myself. Adding another layer of security is also a layer of complication that must be managed.

Please tell me that you made it so your Messages notifications are not visible unless screen is unlocked?

(the number of people that allow those notifications on a locked phone is mind boggling; Apple should really change the default for notifications to be hidden unless successful Face ID.)

I believe that is the default.

Proton is a great company. I'll have to check this out! I dont think I'll switch from the two factor in Apple Passwords, Duo, or Microsoft Auth though. I would like to get rid of Duo so we'll see

no Apple Watch app. lame!

I think this looks like a great authentication app. I have been paying for and using 1Password for a while simply because it had great support for the Apple Watch which this doesn't. It's such a game changer to be able to login without having to hunt down your phone start an app and find the code you need. Just put it into a complication on the watch face and it's always there when you need it. I hope Proton add this feature, I'm ready to switch once they do.

Does this have an Apple Watch app? Glad there is another open program 2FAS has been great and recently made a password manager too haven’t looked yet. Bitwarden/2FAS have been solid.

with yesterdays update they've added Apple Watch support.

I have switched 99.8% of my TOTP use to Apple Passwords. The ones I didn't switch I use OTP Auth. I have used it for several years and is excellent.
Oh. I didn't even know you could use Apple Passwords for time-based one-time passwords. :D

That's very convenient for any hijacker getting into your phone,
having passwords and the matching TOTP in the same app! 😍
