Pretty cool. Too bad I don't have an extra $350 laying around.

The original Apple TV was a horrible device (I have one). Usually, when you buy a prototype for extra money, it's for a classic/successful product.

Many of these listings have been quickly pulled, presumably at the request of Apple once they come to its attention.

Good job you've posted it on the front page of an apple rumors website, in order that it doen't come to Apple's attention.

Steve prolly bought it and will have it traced back to its source and suddenly there will be a job opening at Apple. :)

This doesn't seem too interesting even if you collect prototypes as a hobby. The first Apple TV was always just a box with a hard drive and this doesn't look like it has anything different from the shipping product. Even the software is the same. If it had some sort of test OS (similar to the one accidentally shipped on a few iPhones and iPod touches) or something then it might be worth it.

I could see buying, for example, a prototype iPhone that had 64GB instead of the standard 16GB or 32GB.

prototype

Wonder how many people out there actually collect old tech prototypes, probably more then i think. Its pretty crazy that the mac mini's are smaller then the original apple TV. Sense we're on the topic, I've been thinking about picking up an apple TV, you guys recommend it?
