I don't know when exactly this started happening, but it's been especially more annoying the past few days.
I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but it's basically as if the proximity sensor has suddenly, somehow, become extra "sensitive" on my iPhone X?

I used to be able to tap the top of the screen to scroll to the top no problem in apps like Twitter, Facebook and others, but now every time I try to, the screen turns off as if I'm completely blocking the sensor. My method of holding the phone or whereabouts at the top I tap hasn't changed, but it's really triggering me and I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing anything similar?

Another question - how far should something have to be from the screen to activate the proximity sensor and turn off the display? I can hover my finger about 2 inches above the sensor and the display will turn off?

I'm so sure neither of these things happened prior to this week!

Thanks in advance for your feedback. :)

You might have a problem as the proximity sensor should not even be on unless in a phone call. My sensor does nothing while using the phone unless it is in a call. You should be able to place you hand over the entire screen without it turning off unless during a phone call.

Thank you! I’ll make an appointment and get it seen to.
