Proxy password settings in System Preferences not staying

Hi,

can anyone help me with this? I upgraded from Leopard to SL, but couldn't get some software to work - so downgraded back to leopard. Since then, in setting up a proxy, when I enter the username and password, and apply, gong back to the proxy screen again, the username and password isn't there. I suspect a permissions issue - but any ideas?
 
Fixed it - was a problem with my keychain, so deleted the login one, rebuilt it via mobileme and things started working again...
