proxy

    is it possible to use the mac mini as a proxy server to, i dont know, bypass firewalls or such remotely on a mbp?

    Depends on what the firewall is configured to let pass through and block. Just a proxy might not help.

    a school firewall, and newipnow works fine to bypass the restrictions except i dont trust logging into facebook for fear that it would be insecure, which is where my home proxy server comes into play....

    Then use Facebook's https login. That's about as secure as you're going to get.
