[PS3] Burned DVD's show in 1080i over component!

My homemade burned DVD's show 1080i over component (rather than HDMI), and store-bought DVD's show in 480p. Anyone else come across this?

Interesting, I can copy a "store-bought" disc to DVD-R and watch it over component in 1080i (my system is only wired for component, not HDMI).

PQ is a bit better, over watching the store-bought disc on my older DVD player in 480p.

Yup, I've been watching burnt DVDs a while now on the PS3 in 1080p😀....what a cool feature upscaling is....glad its in the PS3.

Wait did you say you store bought one are showing in 480i....did you check your settings?

Store bought DVD's are in 480p.

I hope Sony doesn't figure out the loophole and disable it. It makes the PS3 cooler to own than rather a regular Blu-ray player.
