PS3 Controller (Dualshock 3) under High Sierra

There have been some reports online that since Sierra, the Dualshock 3 controller by Sony stopped working via Bluetooth (where you connected once with USB and then could use it without installing any drivers wirelessly). I am thinking of buying one. Does anybody have experience running it under Sierra/High Sierra and does it still work as it used to? Thanks!
