Then in a suden rush of reality everyone will notice those worthy 360 failing from the red light special.
You gotta have selective memory because the PS1 and PS2 had high failure rates in Japan. In fact my PS2 was replaced 4 times here and my PSP lost a whole line of pixels out of the box not to mention the scratched disks. The store wouldn't replace it so I had to mail it to SONY and three weeks later they sent me a refurbished one.
That being said, I bought 3 XBOX 360's imported from US when they first launched and 1 failed and was replaced by MS for free and the other ones never had a problem. Not to mention that Microsoft has stepped up and extended warranties and refunded people who paid for repairs.
The PS3 has something like a 1% failure rate. So what, my XBOX 360 has thousands of hours of use over my PS3. MS is not perfect, hell if we look back a few years people said they wouldn't have gotten this far, and yet here it is.
In this gen of consoles there will be a winner and right now it is not SONY. When all those great games come out we will see. But, for now its a paperweight. I like to judge things that I can see, use and experience, what it will or can do is of little interest to me because I can just flip the argument over and say you know XBOX 360 can do a lot of new crap in the future too, and how about those future games! man they're gunna rock.
I gave SONY the benefit of the doubt right, I bought a PS3, I also gave MS a chance I bought a XBOX 360.
My XBOX 360 was never a paperweight incidentally, I always had some decent content. The reality is, it should have been Microsoft who sits in SONYs shoes right now not the other-way around, but things change.
I for one think SONY needs a swift kick in its ass. To me XBOX Live is the single most important feature of the XBOX 360 and Japanese have never been very good at building software. This is why Apple has devastated the Japanese mp3 market, no iTunes competitor.
You feel me? When the games come, I will buy them. But I ain't going to stick up for SONY and I ain't gunna bash Microsoft because there parts suppliers suck.
You know, my iMac G5 20" just failed, the power supply just died. Am I going to go all ape on Apple, nah man, the part supplier sucked, as a product evolves they change part suppliers to address issues. From what I understand, SONY is in the middle of downgrading parts to try to save on production costs, so your hopes might come true with a bunch of dead PS3's.
But then, I like to deal with reality and the reality is SONY ain't what it use to be.
