Hi,
I am a complete newbie & would appreciate any help? I have read the earlier posts, but a little lost in some of the technical talk. I am basically trying to find a solution which allows me to watch downloaded movie files (7Gb .avi) on my TV?

Ideally would like to stream wirelessly; everything is actually working through MediaLink, however the stuttering is a problem. If someone can please step me though some setting changes, to alleviate the stuttering it would be appreciated?

Failing that option, is there an easy way I can copy the files wirelessly to the PS3 hard drive; or even just transfer them via USB Passport Drive? I have the Passport Drive formatted FAT32, but I believe that the PS3 limits FAT32 file size to 4Gb, as it prefers NTFS formatting (which only works on PC)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are my details -
System: Mac OS X Version 10.6.6
Processor: 3.065 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4GB

Router: Netgear Wireless Cable Voice Gateway EMTA CVG824G v3
Hardware Version: 1.01E
Software Version: 3.9.21.4.RDS0324

PS3: 360Gb (latest software updated 2 days ago - brand new)

Nullriver MediaLink 2.14 (latest software - updated tonight)

USB Passport Drive: WD 1Tb formatted FAT32

cheers

Using Handbrake to convert mkv files to mp4 is the best solution for me.
But so far only 720p files play smoothly while 1080ps show hit-or-miss qualities.
I have my PS3 setup in my living room. Both my MacBook Pro & my Airport Extreme are in my bedroom which directly opens to the living room (so transmission doesn't cover a lot of space). No wired connections (except modem-->Airport). Works well for TV rips but high bit rate stuff is still inconsistent.
