I don't see why the heck it would have dozens of processors. How big would that thing be? This is probably some bull sh**.

Finally someone agrees with me.

(Hint to everyone: Don't believe everything you read on the internet... remember the iWalk?)

I don't believe Sony's hype for an instant. not after the bogus PS2 hype.

Also, I despise Sony. Even more than MS. Why? IMO, the RIAA is far more "evil" and MS ever was or is. And Sony is a major member of the RIAA.

The Xbox is my favorite MS product. Xbox Live is great, and it already has many great games. As for other MS products, only Office v.X gets a favorable review from me.

Just to add in a bit of history, this kind of advance super-hyped PR is nothing out of the ordinary in the video game industry. Of course it never turns out to be true, but that doesn't matter because the goal is to get people excited and buy the machines. The Nintendo 64 (then still called the Ultra 64) strikes me as the best example:
August 23, 1993. The consumer electronics industry tuned in as Silicon Graphics and Nintendo announced a partnership to build the world's most powerful game machine. Speaking to a crowd of analysts, news media, and industry pundits, Silicon Graphics founder and CEO Jim Clark outlined an ambitious project, Project Reality, which would revolutionize the consumer electronics industry. Never one for understatement, Clark declared that Project Reality would harness the "combined computer power of hundreds of PCs" for less than $250. The pundits were convinced that the Silicon Graphics/Nintendo powerhouse could deliver it. Apparently, were the analysts--3DO stock dropped $4 that day in heavy trading--and children around the world, whipped to a frenzy by the glowing reports in the news media, began to lobby their parents for their Christmas '95 presents.

I guess they weren't lying. The Nintendo 64 was faster than hundreds of PCs... if those PCs were all 8086es.

didn't sony claim to be losing money on every ps2 sold back when they were 299? i believe they were the 1st to drop the price of their console to 199, forcing ms and nintendo to follow with price drops. ms is doing what it has to do to continue to gain as much market share as it can in hopes of winning the next console war. in terms of us sales they are continually gaining ground on sony. it's funny that many developers were pissed by sony and the confusing architecture used in the ps2. then many developers were singing the praises of xbox and it's developer friendly platform. doesn't anyone remember all the articles in gaming mags about how microsoft put lots of research into making a console that developers and gamers would like? obviously alot more than what sony crammed down our collective throats with the ps2! sony basically said "we are #1, and we will continue to be #1, so you will have to deal with our platform if you want to make money." at least ms released a console that developers embraced. even nintendo did a good job of making the cube developer friendly. the best thing is how it shows in the latest gen of games out now: dmc2 sux for ps2 compared to the original, splinter cell looks half-a$$ed compared to xbox, all sports games look better on the box, halo2 for xbox, doax, the screenshots for soul caliber2 make things obvious as well.
anyway, i wouldn't buy into the hype of the ps3. sony's also terrified the xbox2 will release b4 the ps3:eek:
