Anyone buy it? I'm fine with running games on my rMBP for now (I only game for 5 hours a month anyway)... The PS4 is looking tempting but I'm still drawn to the Xbox One.

Which game do you play?

I try to play a new game every time. Last game I played was the new Devil May Cry (Bioshock Infinite before that). I just get bored of repetitiveness in games and figure my time would be better spent working or watching a movie lol..

I intend to get the PS4 later this week...living in the country finally benefits me...my local Gamestop still has plenty of stock as does my Target and Walmart.

If the Xbox One were more powerful this would be a no-brainer for me. I prefer the brand, UI, controller, and design but PS4 has better exclusives IMO and a better GPU.

Nah, none of the launch titles were all that interesting to me. Xbone's lineup isn't too exciting, either.

Yeah, picked up a console on release day for this very reason. Well, besides the SNES, but mom and dad bought that for me, and it had Super Mario World to tide me over for months on end.

I'd rather live vicariously through the early adopters for a couple of years, then grab one for myself once a number of good games have arrived. By that point, it'll be a little bit cheaper, and you'll have a helluva lot more to do with it. Other than missing out on the rush and the thrill of getting something brand spanking new, it makes more sense to me to do it this way.

...I'm such a buzzkill.

Is it just me or is there not nearly as much of a "buzz" surrounding these product launches as there has been in years past? I remember when the PS3 came out, there were enormous lines outside of every store, people literally getting into fights (and worse), people flipping them on eBay for thousands of dollars. I don't really see any of that this year. Sounds like a pretty tame launch and from what I understand most outlets have a fair amount of units in stocks. Do people just not care as much this time around, or do they have enough available stock that it isn't a "rare" item yet?

Consoles just don't have the titles that interest me. For me it's Windows gaming all the way. Those few that are cross platform which interest me get better graphics and more mods on Windows.

There are only a few console exclusives that ever interest me. But not enough to spend $400 to play two or three games. Making it worse the exclusives aren't just on one console but many. I'm not about to buy from three vendors for that.

For Nintendo that would be Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda games. For Playstation that would be Gran Turismo although Project CARS will get rid of that temptation. Can't think of any for XBox.

I'm not sure what the reason is, but I agree 100%. There is no big deal about this launch. (except for the boys on South Park. Those kids are going to WAR!)

Will hopefully be getting one, but not for at least a few months. Just no games that are worth the purchase for me right now.

The line up doesn't seem any worse than other launches to me, they never seem to be great.

I wonder why sony don't get a GT game or some other AAA sony franchise made to be a launch title? Surely they can start producing the game years before launch? A PS4 and GT6 bundle would sell like hot cakes.

Bought a launch edition on Amazon. I'm just hoping that it doesn't come DOA like so many Amazon reviews have said.

I got my PS4 from Amazon and tried some Warframe last night, but Amazon forgot my copy of Knack so I've been using it as a super blu-ray player. Never having had a blu-ray player before (Thanks Apple:mad:) , the quality is quite nice - for sure it beats Netflix. But I can't comment on how games run, since, well...

But I like the design and soft glow from the light on the console, although I wish the controller light was a little dimmer. My girlfriend said that it flashed different colors while I was playing Warframe, which sounds cool, and it makes finding the controller after you drop it dead easy.

Definitely nice hardware, and about the same size as my 360 slim. I just wonder how it plays games

After playing the PS4 in store, I'm not especially excited. The launch titles seriously do not look any better than PS3 games. At this point I'm more interested in the Xbox One and its fully integrated Kinect.

I got mine yesterday and it's awesome.

Pretty much everyone I know who got one, myself included, preordered from Amazon back in the summer, so there was no waiting in line at midnight for us.

As far as stock goes, Best Buy looks completely wiped out, their site says not available for store pickup. I've been to two Targets since yesterday (what's the point of having a shopping list if you forget to get half the stuff on it, amirite?) and swung by the electronics department out of curiosity and they were sold out of everything - consoles, games and accessories. So I'm not sure if it's that easy to walk in somewhere and get one.

You're right about eBay prices though. They're mostly in the $550-600 range which I find surprisingly low.

There were pre-orders and larger stock this time around. Everyone who wanted one could have ordered it months ago. Should be selling higher internationally on eBay though.

European launch is in just under two weeks and I'm still on the fence. I think eventually it'll be worth having, but the launch titles are incredibly underwhelming.
