I have a PS4 but haven't gotten either game. Both games are on sale and I can score either of them for around the same price. Which game is the one to buy?
Infamous Second Son or Watch Dogs?

Infamous seems to have slightly higher review scores... but I didn't love the first one and never got to play the 2nd one.

Watch Dogs looks like a clunky version of GTA V, which I loved... but I get the feeling if I'm expecting GTA V level story/gameplay I might be let down.

Currently only own Assassin's Creed Black Flag on PS4.

Just looking for some opinions to help me with my decision. Thanks!

Infamous is just tons more fun, more stuff to do and is very action-y. Personally I didn't like the fighting much until I got the more powerful upgrades but after 40% of the story was completed it got really fun.

Watch Dogs, it just feels a bit too generic and uninteresting after the vast GTAV and the colourful comic book Infamous.

Infamous Second Son is visually far more impressive too.... Indeed it kind of came out of nowhere and proved that open world games didn't have to compromise graphically on next gen ... Sadly Watchdogs because it's an old gen & current general title still suffers from texture streaming and pop in issues ...

I decided to pick up Infamous. I'm sure I'll be able to find Watchdogs for cheap in a few months and not have buy an extra PS+ card (which was part of the deal for the discount).

watch dogs is more fun and there is more to do, but 2nd son does look better but the AI in WD is way more advanced though.

I got Second Son with my PS4, so I didn't spend anything on it.

It's a truly beautiful game except I found the game relentlessly repetitive. All the powers are so similar and the zone level achievements are all the same thing (just a grind). I had some amount of trouble trying to get myself to finish up that game.
You also get all the upgrades to the powers really quickly. Admittedly, I cleared areas before progressing the story, but I usually had enough shard accumulated to fully upgrade the new power I just picked up.

Watch Dogs I picked up today actually and spent about an hour on it. It's definitely not got the same graphical polish as SS, but at least the world is more interactive. I'm a huge fan of the Deus Ex franchise and so far, it plays well into that. The driving is a bit unnatural to me, but I imagine I'll get used to it.

I would put my vote in for WD. I don't like how it didn't live up to the hype, but I got a good deal on it so it's worth it in my book ($54 in Au)

Infamous is beautiful. It's really a great showcase for the PS4's graphics. The gameplay is good, the story is OK. I found the game a bit short overall. By the time I beat the final boss I'd done everything i the game. You can keep playing but there wasn't much to do. I could start over and play evil but that's not as much fun as using all my superpowers.

Watchdogs is not as nice visually. Gameplay seems as deep or deeper than Infamous based on the upgrades available. I haven't played it enough to say more.

I'd probably go with Infamous personally. It's likely the game will be free from PS+ at some point in the next two years though, if that matters to you.

I think Im going to just end up renting both, since Im not seeing the greatest of reviews.

Speaking of the PS+, I wish they would add a legit game to the list already. I know the PS4 is still new, but enough of these indie titles already. It sucks when you see all these great titles for the PS3. I should have kept my PS3 as well for the time being. Oh well.

But the PS4 library is tiny, I'm amazed they're including AAA games at all when I can only think of 1 or 2 good ones (Killzone, MGS). Whereas the indies have been on full form. Same with the Vita, actually.

Knack will probably be the first AAA game to hit Plus, maybe this Fall.

I have only bought one game (Infamous) for my PS4 so far. Still so much stuff to play on PS3, I will wait for all the PS4 launch games to go dirt cheap or hit Plus.

Infamous looks better and is more fun. You can get it at best buy for 40

But $40 is still so much money... I could buy almost a full week's worth of groceries with $40 (if we are going to starve that week)....

I'll wait three or four years until those games are cheap like how the 360 games are now.

Having completed and enjoyed both, I'd suggest inFamous, whist it's not a truly 'great' or 'outstanding' game by any means, it's a solid launch title. As others in the video gaming industry have mentioned, Watch Dogs isn't as good as it was hyped up to be and it could be better if it was a next-gen only game, rather than carrying the baggage of last-gen's consoles.

Well now there's GTAV coming to PS4. I say the current PS3 version is better than PS4 Watch Dogs and Infamous so a real next gen update will be peaches and cream!

I had a chance to play watchdogs over the weekend, and it was a lot of fun. It seems like one of those games where it will only be fun for a little while, though. Like, after one multi-hour sitting, it wouldn't be the same. IMO, not worth $50

Ooo, these are very very different games.

I HAD a PS4 since launch, and fully completed Infamous Second Son. Been playing Watch Dogs on the Xbox One.

Graphically there is just no contest. Second Son all the way.

Game play wise, ISS has a very arcady kinda feel to it, similar to Crackdown on the Xbox 360. Watch Dogs seems more similar to GTAV. It's not as beautiful as ISS, but it's also far more elaborate.

ISS people run around the streets, and people react to you but everything is very flat. You can't get into cars for instance. Everyone reacts to you the EXACT same way if you have bad karma, and the same thing if you are good karma.

Watch Dogs you get a bit of a better sense of the world and random fictitious personalities from hacking phones, and watching people interact. It just feels deeper, and takes itself more seriously then Infamous. But the world isn't as deep as GTAV. In my casual-ish gaming experience Watch Dogs is probably the closest to feeling as rounded out as GTA series.

My $.02, and probably not what you were thinking.

I would say InFamous, its just a fun game with interesting powers. I'm not really into open world games with the exception of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout so normal running around the city driving cars gets extremely boring to me and I'm certain the hacking stuff wouldn't hold my attention.

Bless

Got 'em both. To me Second Son is much more fun.
I wanted Watch Dogs so bad, cause it seemed so cool to walk around and hack the €@#%{ out of stuff. But it turned out there was little to hack...

The game is also pretty repetitive

I've heard that about that game... I'm glad I didn't buy it.
