PS5 and Apple TV, ARC sound

Hi,
I'd like to hear a sound from PS5 on speakers connected to Apple TV. I'm planing to set it up that way:
Connect PS5 to LG TV, than by HDMI eARC connect LG TV to Apple TV and by optical audio output connect Apple TV to my speaker system.

Will it be working? I know that it'll work if I connect Apple TV to HomePod, by what about optical audio output? Has anyone got any experience?

Audio pass through via the ATV doesn’t work without a Homepod.
If your TV has an optical out then you’d be better off plugging the optical cable into that and pass through the audio that way.

I don't know why you want such a convoluted connection of devices. The ATV is not a sound system, but it looks like you want to use it for one, are as a go between device which it isn't designed for. The best way to set things up for your TV is connect the TV via HDMI CEC to your sound system. Then connect each device like the PS5 and ATV to regular HDMI ports on the TV. This way the TV controls the sound being sent to it by each device, then sends that sound to the sound system. Since you are not using HomePods, there is no reason to send sound from the PS5 through the ATV to the sound system.

Ive just read this again, would I be assuming correctly you’re using an ATV 3?
If this isn’t correct then how are you intending on using optical via the ATV as neither the ATV4(HD) or either of the ATV4K models have an optical output?

Question why are you trying to use the optical out on the Apple TV? Why not just use the optical out on the tv? This be most simple way to make sure all sound going to the tv is played out.

I do have LG C1 with a ps5 and Apple TV. I would test this out but gave away my sound bar a few weeks about since I use 2 HomePods.

Thanks all of you! You're absolutely right and connecting sound system to TV will be the best choice.
I've often listen to spotify, so thought about not turning on TV just to do that. But my TV has an option to just turn off the screen so I'll listen to music that way.
