Using third-party apps (in my case, Procreate and ArtStudio Pro) the Apple Pencil no longer works correctly.

In Procreate, the app no longer registers pressure settings or brush size, meaning the stroke is always a pixel-thin line regardless of the settings/pressure being applied. The stroke also lags behind and there are sometimes graphical issues.

In ArtStudio Pro, as you draw the line stroke doesn’t show until you’ve let go of the pencil. When you let go, the line stroke snaps into existence and is rendered correctly - just makes it hard to draw when you can't see the stroke as you're making it.

Apple Pencil still works as expected in Apple Notes and Pixelmator Pro.

I have reported this to Apple under the assumption that this is a beta-bug (it was fine on beta 2) and not an issue on my end.

Just a heads up for anyone who is currently running the beta and is tempted to go to beta 3 - if you use Procreate, you may want to give it a wide berth for now.

If you do decide to go ahead, it'd be great if you could let me know just so I know it's not a me issue.

& yes I know it's a beta, bugs happen etc. etc. but again, just a heads up for any curious folk like me.

I am downgrading right now. It's a dealbreaker for me. That's ok, these things happen. But I can't be without Procreate for 2 weeks, and they traditionally don't support beta OSes.

P.S. It is not just a you issue... that happened in Procreate over here, too. Some brushes worked intermittently but nothing was consistent.

So I'm not having these issues, however, I often use the quick shape action frequently. I noticed after updating when I draw anything for longer than the quick shape action delay for holding at the end of a line, it will start erasing the line as I draw behind it like a game of snake on my procreate canvas. If I remove the pencil during this event, it will keep the line as it remains on the screen, but if I hold the pencil the line will eventually catch up to ittself followed by my pencil vibrating and an alert that says "Quick shape action not available" (or something to that effect). No settings have changed, it just won't let me draw lines for longer than .65ms now which is annoying. Hoping some kind

Turning on the “tap assistance” setting explained above fixed this for me.
