I know I don't... You also must not use Mail or any application that uses the built-in web view.

Or if only iOS/iPadOS allowed other web browser engines besides WebKit so FireFox and Chrome wouldn't behave like Safari reskins. If only Safari was an actual app store app and could allow updates outside of the core OS...
That's exactly right, time to dispose of them. Nothing lasts forever. And if our devices are so old that they can't reach those OS versions, we're supposed to just not use them anymore, right? It sounds like a sarcastic question, but is that actually, in the grand scheme of security, what we're supposed to be doing?
Which guide do you suggest for this project? Is there anything not working? Then you do what I did with my 2012 Mac Mini. You install Ubuntu 22.04 which can be made to look like macOS. It's free and is based on long term service.
Not using Safari in this case would be the fix. This is why it was important for Apple to allow default browsers to be changed. And if our devices are so old that they can't reach those OS versions, we're supposed to just not use them anymore, right? Ubuntu is simple (doesn’t necessarily mean easy but the steps are straightforward) to install on an old Mac. I also have an old Mini with it (it might be Linux Mint right now — I’ve tried a few flavors for fun). I also increased the RAM and installed a SSD drive to speed things up. Everything works as expected - Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, graphics, etc. For a while I was using it as a Minecraft server.Which guide do you suggest for this project? Is there anything not working?
Speak for yourselfDon't worry Apple, no one uses it anyways 🤣
Thought I was speaking for you, thanks for clarifying!Speak for yourself
If you haven't updated already, it's important to do so at the earliest opportunity. The latest critical updates are as follows:
iOS 15.6.1
iPadOS 15.6.1
macOS Monterey 12.5.1
Safari 15.6.1 for macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina
To update your iPhone or iPad, head to Settings -> General -> Software Update. To update your Mac, open System Preferences and select the Software Update preference pane.
I'm on Monterey 3.1 and don't get an update eitherBig Sur won't update for me. Doesn't even show an update is available. And when I try Check for Updates, it just spins and spins and Nada! Anyone else?
No you don't. Does Apple provide the exact support timeline of their devices? Nope. You're just assuming based on previous models. Apple never provide exact software support timeline for any of their devices. You knew perfectly well when you bought your device that software updates are only provided for so long. It's not a new thing.
Thanks. I was thinking of installing ESX but the LTS support of Ubuntu is attractive, less frequent custom installs.Ubuntu is simple (doesn’t necessarily mean easy but the steps are straightforward) to install on an old Mac. On a computer download an Ubuntu image, flash it to a USB drive, boot the Mac to the USB drive, and install.
Here’s an older guide that should still work: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbumtuOnMacMini
As for making it look like macOS, I haven’t done that but there appear to be some guides online.
Well, I updated this Mac and it is running Safari 15.6.1.Uhh is this fixed in the iOS/iPadOS/macOS 16 betas??
