haha I noticed that one of the more common google ad sense ads is one for the Psystar open computer with OSX installed on it. anyone else notice it and the irony?

No doubt that the more you mention Psystar the more the Psystar ad will show up. Its not just Psystar, it does that with other things that arent even Pystar related. It looks for keywords such as Psystar and brings up the ad about it, in this case a Psystar ad.

I honestly didnt know Psystar was still selling computers.

Psystar Psystar Psystar ;)

Why is it ironic? Ads are targeted at topics and keyword used on sites. If I mention feminine hygiene, it's pretty likely an ad for feminine hygiene products will appear.

Haha, I didn't mean to make it start showing up more! I just hadn't seen anything on that in a while. I was honestly surprised that they were still selling those things.

i just saw it today ironically.....lol

Psystar Ads on Front Page

Is anybody else a little put-off by the Psystar ads on MR's Front Page? I just had not one but two of them! I guess they have a right to advertise their product and MR has a right to take their $$$, but still.... I found it a little shocking to see them right up there amongst the MacWorld stories.

Okay so I gave-in and clicked on the Psystar ad. Although I wasn't expecting much, I was a little surprised at The Fine Print: "Mac OS X is a registered trademark of Apple Computers Inc." First of all, Psystar, it's "Apple Inc." and it has been so for over a year (since MacWorld 2007). And before that, it was "Apple Computer, Inc." Sorry but Mac OS X has NEVER been a trademark of Apple Computers Inc. I wonder how your attorneys will react, knowing that you're giving Apple's trademark credit to a non-existent company? If they let this glaring error slip through, I wonder how much due diligence they're giving to the other little details in their infringement case? Pretty sad.

Nice link. So it is definitely "MacOS X preinstalled" unless Psystar lies in their adverts, so all of Apple's accusations of copyright infringement and DMCA violation are true. And the fetching image of MacOS X in their advert confirms Apple's accusations that Psystar is trying to trade on Apple's good name.

lol, I just noticed it for the first time today.

Their description of the facts of the case are apparently true. Whether or not their act of installing the software on their "Open Computer" actually constitutes copyright infringement, is something that's increasingly looking like it will ultimately be decided by a judge.

(If I were a betting man, I'd certainly place odds against Psystar. But it's still in the hands of the court.)

Psystar ad?

Anyone else notice the Psystar ad on the first page of this site? I'm a little confused.
