Upgraded from Tahoe last night. Definitely feels faster and no issues yet. AirPods connectivity is good. All apps working well. Finally able to upload shared photo albums at full resolution.

iMessage between devices is out of sync. they all get notifications, but the latest messages do not show up until I kill and open iMessage again

I’m the opposite. I’ve got 27 running in a VM, and find the interface is a big step backwards, and much prefer Tahoe to it.

I mean, we cannot judge yet, these are beta versions. It will be unfair to criticize while still waiting for the official release in 2 months.

The 2 apps that crash a lot for me were Brave and Adguard. Also, Xcode 27 Beta often stopped responding. That was before Public Beta 1/Dev Beta 3 and I downgraded back to Tahoe 26.5.2 so Idk if they’re still crashing or not. Otherwise Golden Gate 27 has been quite good.

what was meaningful for me, was that battery smc started to be operated by firmware, so Al dente and similar software stopped working properly (as for now). I went back to Sequoia, but the firmware remained. So now i am using this:

I’m running an M1 Ultra Mac Studio with 128GB of Ram, yet Safari on Golden Gate still bogs down to spinning beach ball performance bottlenecks when I open Tab Overview with a few dozen tabs showing.
My $600 iPad Mini 7 handles hundreds of tabs in overview mode, displaying their content, allowing seamless reorganization, without a hiccup, but the M1 Mac that costs six grand can’t handle safari using 1 GB of 128 available with the exact same Safari setup.
Anyone else seeing MacOS Safari struggling on their Mac?

its fast for me, just glitchy. it fails faster, which I argue is still an improvement.

On Beta 4 with a M1 Max MBP, it does feel clunky overall since its still beta, but it feels faster than Tahoe by miles.
They'll iron out the edges by full release I'm sure and by .3 it will be really solid as usual.
Overall a good OS update compared to previous ones. Especially Tahoe which ran like trash.

Well the visuals are slightly better compared to Tahoe and you can control how much Liquid Glass there is, also they fixed side panels so now there isn't an extra useless layer and it feels more like Sequoia.
Outside of visuals, I think it feels much snappier even if buggy (due to it being beta, they will fix it). Apple promised Golden Gate to be like a Snow Leopard release now that they dropped Intel code, and I agree with that.
I have Tahoe 26.6 on a M4 Pro and Golden Gate DB4 on M1 Max and the M1 Max feels like a new machine.
Still on Sequoia on Intel Mac Pro 2019 but I won't be touching Tahoe on that in the foreseeable future.
I think Tahoe is just a horrible release, one of Apple's worst in recent memory. Too much bloat.
I don't recommend Golden Gate beta for Day to Day, I don't use my M1 Max for work, just small things. Wait for full release or at least .2 or .3 to fully onboard imo.
I also don't mind Siri AI, it's much better now than before, maybe this time we can use it for more than setting our alarm clocks 🤣
Fantastic. I'll be upgrading on release day I think at this point. Too much inconsistency in peoples mileage. Some say it's perfect others say it's not fun. I just cant have stuff breaking in production.

Whats your specs? I wouldn't put a new OS on a production machine, I made that mistake (I should know better) with Tahoe and regretted it and went back to Sequoia.
