Hello,
I’m trying to install Bug Sur in a 256 GB thumb drive. Everything has gone well until the very end. For about three hours it’s been stuck on “Less than one minute remaining”. The progress bar is completely at the end, but the install appears stuck.
The led in the thumb drive is flashing, so I think there is still some activity.

Has anyone else seen this?
Has anyone solved this?

Thanks!

I had the same problem trying several versions of the beta.
I finally just... gave up.
Sometimes is just isn't worth the trouble.
I think I'll stick with Mojave... ;)

I tried it on a 64 gb sd and had exactly the same problem. Tried many times and from another Mac with same results. Finaly I installed it on an external 500 gb western digital ssd. it went smoothly but stuck on ”lees than a minute” for approximately 20 minutes and then booted Ok.

Can anyone confirm if PB2 fixes the above issue....I want to give Big Sur a try but I have tried installing it multiple times, it just won't work!

I haven't tried again. I wanted it on a thumb drive so I could plug it into my other Macs and see how the worked in the new OS (since they're not officially supported). I may just have to wait until the official release.

I also thought about cloning my internal drive with Big Sur installed to a USB drive, but that also had issues (hangs, random errors, etc).
