Public transit stops not available in Google Maps?

I see the colored lines for the public transit system in NYC but nothing is labeled. Am I missing something?

Did you select public transit as an option from the side menu?

Yep...shows the colors but no stop labels.

....and the more you zoom in the more it shows....train lines...bus stops that weren't in one view now show up as I zoom in (but no labels at all on those).

This is one of my favorite features. And have been clamoring for, even with the stock google maps on pre iOS 6
