publishing iCal to a webhost server

OK IM trying to publish my iCal to my webhost server so I can create a feed from it for another program. I created a folder under my website call calendars. When I tryy to publish the calendar there i get a message that says myhost.com/calendars is not a valid location. What am I doing wrong?

I do this very thing with my webhost using a WebDav account. Does your host provide WebDav access? I think that's what you need to be able to publish it.
