Interesting day. I was up at 3 trying to order and pick up at the store. That didn't work. As the day progressed I got mad that the product was not going to be in the stores today so I started looking hard at Asus and Dell. I just could not go back to another windows computer. I am spoiled rotten with my rMBP 15 and I couldn't go with the screen on the Air. Everything just works with Apple stuff, so I ordered the space gray basic Macbook. Delivery should be in a few days. Expensive, but worth it.

How do you figure you'll receive it in a few days? Anyway, I agree...no point in switching to Windows.

I do not understand why it is 2015 and there is no touchscreen on the Mac. I really like the Surface Pro for the touchscreen. I bought a macbook today.. we shall see in a week if it becomes my "go to" notebook or if i keep using the SP3

We would need some redesign of OS X, Have you tried a Surface Pro 3 with an app that is not designed for touch? The experience is less than stellar.

Many of us consider the lack of touchscreen to be an advantage.

Really? If anyone touches my laptop screen I'll break that figure off and shove it up their nose.

I want to see that beautiful retina screen...not the fingerprints.

I had a SP3 i used the keyboard and touchscreen together more than i ever thought. Worked better than i originally thought it would too. ONLY downside for me with the SP3 was you couldn't naturally pick up like the MBR or MBA. I use my MBA on my lap while watching TV and like to just GET UP go to the kitchen and put it down. I always had to adjust the hinge etc. But i just use mine at home so i was not a road warrior.

Plus NOTHING beats the trackpad, and i just like the physical feel on the macbook and MBA keyboard better.

I never use my Surface Pro as an iPad. I actually hate the experience of using a touch screen on a laptop. I feel like I'm ruining the display with smudges.

Congrats. Did you try out the Dell XPS 13? It really is a great laptop, and in many way's beats the Macbook.

Didn't physically try it, but read just about every review on it and Windows 8. I just could not go back to Windows, even with Windows 10 coming. Price wise, the Macbook is competitive with the XPS 13. I have had relatives with Dell products and their experience has not been good.

Every decision on purchases is personal. For me, I didn't want to save money and be stuck with a computer that I didn't like, knowing that I should have bought the Macbook.
