I'm pumped. My rMBP, I bought when they came out, just quite this month (after 3000 battery cycles and 2 SSDs).

We'll see how this one lasts! I'm a heavy user!

In for an Air. If reviews/benchmarks show some fatal flaw (unlikely), I can always use the generous return window.

Post benchmarks and real world tests in this thread should you get the chance to. It'll help several undecided buyers get a sense and feel.
sure ... just tell me what you want me to test/how?

i'm sure it will be deposited in my green wheelie bin in an auspicious box on a WED right before the bin men collect it on THR morning.

i still can't get my package from my neighbours :/

I ordered the base config MBA too. The 13-inch MBP, still with only 2 ports, to me, just doesn't justify the extra cost for it. Thoughts?

I'm somewhat of a power-user but the base-spec MBA seems the best value-for-money at £999. A £250 upgrade wasn't appealing.

Also, I'm torn about the touchbar. Could be cool. But I usually walk about 200km/125mi to work and back/month and I'm not convinced that the MBP is better than the MBA for the hassle of carrying it. I have a few iMacs at work if I need a larger screen.

That's my plan also - If reviews/tests or my own experience say "no-go" -- no problem

Edit: cancelled my order. I think I want to wait on reviews and perhaps trying one in stores and seeing how the software situation shakes out also

Well I was all set for going MB Pro, but by the time I bumped it up with RAM and 1TB the cost seemed too much for my needs. So, I’ll be giving the MB Air a try. With the recently announced extended return window it seems like a good way to go. Though I doubt I need but one or two days to find out if I need to go Pro.

If there wasn't talk of a 14'' model around the corner, I would buy the 13 M1 MBP right now. Makes sense that they'll do it, will help differentiate the MBPro and MBAir.

My 2011 Air is on its last leg but the new Air still unavailable for order where I live. Looking forward to order 16 GB/256 GB combo. hope there is one.

Well - I just "un-pulled the trigger" myself

Too much unknown for me right now.

I think I prefer to wait on the sidelines at this time

Your decision seems to be the most practical. It just comes down to what software you use. I have a 2017 Air and it works fine for me — running iWork, Affinity Designer, Sketch — I would imagine the new Air is quite a large step up from mine. If I were working in heavy photo/video editing, I may opt for the Pro — but then I would probably prefer a 16” for that purpose.
