I run a travel agency. Our main email address is info@websitename.com.au, I have set up this POP account in mail using the same settings that it has at work. The emails are received and sent, but only if I leave the mail app open. If it is not constantly checking for emails then it will not receive them all and there is no option to connect to the work server and search for all the emails. So on iPhone because it's always on the emails are always coming in fine but if I leave it off for an hour, the majority of the emails that came in during that time I will only see at work. How to fix this? Is it something to do with Microsoft Exchange that I need to set up?

That is how POP e-mail works. It downloads the messages off the server when polled by the client. You can only get the behavior you want by having Mail open.

So is there an alternative, can I change to a different email type?
