I think I'm already there :)

That's great, I'm going to check out Ember, I've been waiting for that idea to be developed. I love keeping coffee as hot as possible for as long as possible because I like to take a few sips here and there rather than just drink the whole thing in a few minutes.

I want to invest - IMAGINE the Baby Bottle Market - I'm sure that has to be on their road map.... wake, push a button and grab the 98.6F baby bottle....go back to bed......

Edit: btw how do you find the New Mac Mini (2018) - (i7/32Gig/1TB)?

compared to my souped up Mac Pro 2008 (SSD and Radeon 5870 video card)..... it is amazing - see my post in Mac Mini Set Up. My needs have changed over the years - its fast and nimble - supports 2 X 34 inch thunderbolt wide screens with ease. My XBOX is my gaming machine these days on a 75 inch 4K TV. MS Office 365 to work remote, and I edit photos and dabble with Pixlemator and PS - and for storage I live in the cloud these days - so its powerful, elegant and worth it....all that said had their been a "Mac Pro 2008" Tower with 2018/2019 hardware (iMac Pro w/o the monitor)... I'm sure my Y Chromosome would have bought that instead... but no regrets with my little quiet square.

This is defiantly will be useful for those folks that can’t reach their shoes. Usually it’s the obiese ones, but there some disabled folks that may find it useful.
So you don't know anyone who has difficulty putting on his shoes? Search for velcro walking shoes. You might think older persons could use these sneakers, but they defiantly usually need assistance getting the shoes on their feet.

75" TV now that's home entertainment, for sure. I thought my 55" was big lol

Gaming has never been something that interests me, probably because I'm as coordinated as a drunk driver. I'm terrible at games.

However, the first Mac I ever owned was a Mac Mini and I loved it. So compact, quiet, elegant. And these new models, although I've heard some criticism, look very interesting. And if they have the processing capability for video editing better than my current iMac (i5 3.5Ghz) can handle, I may consider purchasing one.

And, yeah, so much of our productivity and storage has moved to the cloud. I run my own NAS, and use NextCloud which is brilliant. I also have 15TB of MS OneDrive storage I picked up from university and business (free for life). But I don't trust corporations with my data so I use Cryptomator and Duplicati to encrypt everything stored on MS servers.

Not sure how this was posted here, but - I also have a 2008 Mac Pro lying dormant while I use my 2018 Mac mini. I like the faster response to whatever I'm doing. And I wish there had been a timely update to the Mac Pro line (earlier?). And I am using my original 23-inch ACD.

A Tangent to a question from a "PS" on my snappier reply regarding auto lace shoes and someone who wanted info on a Smart Coffee Cup that does exist....Ember....

For the past decade we had been convinced that it's normal to charge your mobile phone twice a day. And then we had been convinced the same thing for the wrist watch. And now the shoes. So what would be the next ? Underwear ?

How do you think they get their shoes on now?
It’s not about getting them on, it’s tying it. Watched a few large folks doing it. Not pretty. Did feel sorry for them, but then the dude had like 3 hamburgers on his plate. I guess his life he can do whatever he wants.

I will be “defiant” in my use of these as well! Luckily I’m not “obiese”, but hey...
I guess I should check the spell checker before I post. Good catch mate.

While the technology is neat, it shows that shoe executives have way to much money to spend on R & D. That is money that could go to increasing the third-world wages for those that actually construct the shoes that %99.9999999 of the consumers purchase.

People with those conditions have home care aides. People with those physical disabilities typically use slip-on shoes and velcro.
Now they can do regular shoes. It’s an upgrade, baby! ;)

Know all about it man. I have a son with disabilities. Well he finally learned how to tie his shoes. We used tieless shoelaces. This shoes I’m sure would be useful, however, I’m not sure how many will be able to afford it. But then the price may come down after a while.

Yes, and for a number of DYS kids that have problems making their shoes. A bit expensive for a kid :->

'Sneakers' - always amuses me that Americans use this word. Presumably, because they are used for sneaking around in? - Surely that's against Apple's stance on privacy? :D

We have to be near the financial collapse soon right? Between that, and glasses of water that tell you how much water you have drunk these must be signs that the collapse must come soon. How many more of these Rube Goldberg "smart" devices can the market sustain?

I'm probably getting old but this has got to be one of the most stupid and over complicated ways to wear shoes.

Picture the scenario. You want to head out but forgot to put your shoes on the charger.......or what happens when the battery wears out....or you need to wait for a firmware update before you can tie your shoes.....

When I see this stuff, I just think.....

I like the design better than the Nike alternative... I guess it is just taste. The US market is very different from for example the German one. PUMA is a German brand and as I am from Germany, I think their shoe will more popular than the Nike. (Obviously I can be wrong, but that would definitely be the case for me and my friends)

Make sense since I am from the U.S.

What I find particularly sad about products like this is that engineers actually waste time designing it. Such a waste of human talent. I wonder if they're the same engineers that came up with the lights in the heels idea years ago.

Probably, but it’s their lives and they can do whatever they want. Maybe they are so good that it took them only one afternoon. Some folks are just that good. :)
