I'd like to upgrade my kid's iPads for Christmas. I was going to get them 2017 9.7" iPads but the 9.7" iPad Pros have a decent discount so I think it's worth spending a little extra to go with that instead. Of course I'd like to save as much money as possible but I think there is also a balance between getting a good deal and the supply drying up. Do you think I'll be safe waiting to see if the prices will decrease more next month or should I just buy them now and not look at the prices after that?

At this point I would wait for the sales as they can be pretty good on Black Friday. I don’t think supply will be a problem.

Edit: they got excellent sales right now, I'd just go ahead a get one.

Yep. Looking to replace my daughter’s passed down iPad Air 2. This Black Friday I’m aiming at iPad mini 4 128GB for $199 or iPad Pro 9.7” 32GB for $275.

I researched last years holiday sales. A lot of retailers were offering $150 off the IPP. I can currently get it for $170 off what the regular retail is (was). $529 vs $699 for 128GB WiFi version. The 2017 iPad with that configuration is $429.00. Do you guys (and girls :) ) think the price will decrease enough to make it worth waiting?

I just bought the 2017 iPad. I think the prices will be lowest black Friday, but your credit card company might have price protection.

But right now they are hitting their lowest so I think you'll probably be able to save and additional $40 on Black Friday or so.

I just ordered two 9.7" iPad Pros (128GB, WiFi) for $529.00 each. I can return them within 30 days so that might give me enough time to see what the Black Friday sales look like. A lot of sites show them in advance. I doubt there will be a huge discount off of this price. And overall, I'm happy with what I paid. These will replace their 32GB iPad Airs.

Oh, I edited my reply before I looked at the later replies! That’s a good thing to do. Yeah, I think this is about the best you’re going to get, which is a great deal.

Very curious what you think of the 9.7" Pro versus your Air1. I am ready to replace my Air1 and would love to get the 9.7 Pro since Best Buy has them for great prices right now. But, I have to feel Im really upgrading otherwise Ill just sit tight and wait for the 10.5 modesl to come down. Please post your thoughts ASAP!

Unfortunately they are Christmas gifts for my kids so they will be unopened for close to two months. They are one step down from the current iPad Pro and a step above the 2017 iPad so it will be a nice upgrade for you.

Hi there.

Is there a reason why you didn’t pick up the 2017 10.5 iPad Pro (64 gb) for $525 from Best Buy? Did you need bigger storage?

I bought my kids 32GB iPad Airs in 2014. I was going to upgrade them to 2017 iPads this year then started seeing how good prices are for the 9.7" iPPs. I'd like them to have these for another 3, maybe 4 years. I don't think 64GB will be enough. So I went with the 128s. I briefly considered the 10.5" version but the added storage of the previous year is more important.

That price requires a 2-year cellular contract, Im pretty sure which could be a deal-killer for some. Im going to stop buy after work today and see what the details are.

Actually, this price was a straight sale and not a a contract. It was only for the wi-fi model as well.

Yup. This was the deal, but it is expired now.

I ended up getting the 2017 12.9 in pro & pencil deal for $650 and returned the pencil, so essentially bought the IPP for $550. This deal is also expired.

Great deal. Damn. I stopped by today and everything with any deal requires an obnoxious 2 year cell contract. Nope. I do want LTE but I prefer unlocked. Oh well. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are almost here. :)
