Purchase via Apple store or via AT&T store?

I am out of contract with AT&T and probably will get the new iPhone this year. Is there an up/down side purchasing via Apple store or AT&T store?

Same exact phone no matter where you buy it.

I've ordered from both and the only difference I had was when buying from AT&T (online) is that it had to be shipped to the billing address, where Apple allowed it to be shipped elsewhere.

If you're going into the store, I doubt you'll have any different experience.

Any store is no different in the end. Same phone as stated above. Well, maybe you get extra AT&T related help... but that's about it.

When I purchased through Apple, and had an issue within the first 30 days, apple replaced it with an iPhone in a brand new retail box. When I purchased from AT&T, Apple replaced it with a phone from a generic black box.

Sounds like a authorize retailer, cor stores usually will not replace Apple equipment. Have to go through Apple
