Just purchased and unboxed the entry-level MBP 13'' 2018 in silver. A bit disappointed with the display size, too tiny. I had a 21.5'' iMac so probably that's it - hopefully I will get used to the size difference.

First time I have a MacBook!!! Enjoying TrueTone and Touch ID on a Mac is something I was craving for as well as activating Siri with my voice. Need to explore more of the Touch Bar...

Just as a curiosity, on the box it now reads "Apple Inc. One Apple Park Way, Cupertino CA"! Farewell, Infinite Loop...

Anyway, I can't help but think this is too expensive for a laptop.

That's quite a change, 21" to 13". Will this be your full time machine?

Yes, Macs are very expensive, and if you're tempted for a 15", just consider how much more $$ they are

I'm guessing the farewell is due to relocating to Apple Park. Enjoy your new machine!

I will!

I was used to the Infinite Loop address, kind of odd to see a different one now.

Yes. Thinking about getting a 4K or 5K monitor to connect to the MBP that will sort out the size issue at home.

Should I keep the MBP in sleep mode during the night or shut it down? I left it in sleep mode and it drained 10% battery life, isn't that a lot?

Also regarding the battery, may I keep the MBP plugged to AC power once fully charged or should I unplug it?

I just picked up a 2018 15" MBP (btw, Adorama and B&H have the base model on sale for $2,099). I've found it really doesn't matter regarding sleep mode. I used to shut my 2013 MBP down. Now...just close the lid at night. Love the Touch ID to unlock it.

Do unplug and use it on battery only to help "exercise" the battery and keep it healthy.

Hey Rmoliv,
Same thing happend to me few days ago. I closed the lid and let him sleep overnight, battery was at 90% at 11PM. The next day at ca. 4PM there was 70% left. So -20%. Thats strange i thought. So I did a research. Now it won't drop more than 1% in 16hours.

What I did?

- Disabled ability of bluetooth devices to wake up mac and disabled unlock with apple watch
- Disabled everything in the power saving settings, which looked like it can wake up mac when it is on battery and even when the adapter is plugged in. power nap for example.
- If you are using Spotify, close the app, it seems like it won't let macbook sleep.
- Closing all apps would be even better
- I also tried this command in terminal: sudo pmset -b tcpkeepalive 0
EDIT:
I forget to mention that i also enabled Do not disturb when mac is sleeping.

This is everything I did, I think. :)

I'm sorry if there are some mistakes in my writing. English is not my first language.

I would recommend an external monitor. I have a 15" and I don't want to be staring at that 10 hours a day, every day.

Hi, thanks for letting me (us) know what you did. Good to know it worked out. I'm going to change some of those settings and see what I get.

Neither do I. I'll probably get one from LG.
