Purchased the HomePod from the UKs Apple Store. Arrives tomorrow and a friend will send it over to me in my country. I’ve been wondering though whether iOS 12 in my country will work with the HomePod or will I have to change location to another country where the HomePod is available? Thanks

Ooh, good question. Let us know what you find if nobody can give you the answer.

But what happens when eventually Homepod becomes officially available in his country? It’s just flipping a switch to Portuguese or everything (homekit automations etc) is lost and a complete factory reset is required?

So it just arrived home today and it works just fine with iOS set to my country and language. However the only way to interact with the HomePod is using one of the supported languages which are English, Spanish, French and German. I chose English. Amazing sound. They should make it available worldwide. A lot of people wouldn’t mind to interact with it in English. I don’t. Actually I have Siri set to English across all my devices.
