But I thought many would not want the previous version due that it could fried an egg?

I have a Macbook Pro Classic 2.4 Ghz that I run all day long with Boinc for the Rosetta @ Home project. Basically I donate my CPU to deduce protein structure. The screen saver shows 3D structures of the proteins that are being folded by my CPU.

This means my computer is constantly on with a 100% CPU load (verified using istat pro). The temperatures are 75 degrees for the CPU and GPU and everything else is between 30-60 degrees. BTW all degrees are Celcius.

It feels pretty cold on the bottom compared to my old powerbook, but you have the exact measurements above.

I think you can't go wrong with the MBP Classic.

I recommend eBay also. I just got one last week (Classic 2.4Ghz MBP) from eBay for $1300 shipped brand new. Got $200 off with Live.com so thats why it was $1300.

The lowest I can find on live search for a macbook pro is around $1534, and that is bottomline pricing(with the livesearch discount). You must have gotten reeeeally lucky on that deal.

I saw a couple on there for 1350 buy it now recently. Just keep looking.

Is it a 3-month old MBP, or brand new? Three months old is what I'd call a used MBP, and a used computer should be cheaper than a new one. Was it a factory-sealed box with an unregistered laptop, with less than 3 recycles on the battery and a full 12-month warranty?

Oh its used. What I meant was I bought it used, its 3 months old. However the price I paid wasn't for a 3 month old used computer with scratches or dents or problems. It looks brand new, but is 3 months old.

For 1050 it was worth it over a newer macbook because of the graphics card and screen size and was almost 1/2 the cost of a new macbook pro.

I recenly bought a Macbook Pro 2.33 and seen a few posts mentioning RAM up to 4GB's did the 2.33 ever go higher than 3GB's or would it be possible to go up to 4GB's on my 2.33?
