Hi, Please excuse me for my English Please help. I have 3 y.o. 27 in IMac (mid 2011) model. Spontaneously it is started to reboot into white\gray screen with purple stripes, then it goes to constant reboot cycle. After I shut it down and wait it might boot normal or might not and still give me these stripes. Brought it to authorized store and it booted just fine in the store. They said that I had uncertified memory installed and it is true, but these memory was installed for 2 years now and never created an issue. They have removed it and said that issue is resolved and Dx test was fine. When I brought it home ( no uncertified memory) issue still continuos . Please help.

Looks like the Radeongate problem that affects 27" 2011 iMacs with the 6970M card.

Unfortunately, these models are probably no longer eligible for the recall program by Apple. I might be wrong though.

Wrong.

Apple's Radeon 6970M Replacement Program is for 4 years from the date of retail sale. Since the affected machines were sold between May, 2011 and October, 2012, there are none yet ineligible from the program.

If the OP has a machine with the 6970M, I'd urge him to send it in to Apple for free replacement ASAP.

I stand corrected.

I initially thought it was 3 years.

Sorry for the long Log, but does this panic explains the behavior?

Thank you

Kernel panics can have many causes but are usually related to bad/failing RAM or other failing hardware. You don't seem to have any 3rd party device drivers installed, which can be another cause of them.

What you need to do is to show that picture of your screen with the vertical stripes to Apple and then remind them of the 6970M replacement program and they should replace the video card for you with no questions asked. The screenshot you posted indicates your machine almost certainly has a failing 6970M.

If you get the machine back and the kernel panics persist, you start to look at the RAM, but I think there is a good chance that the GPU replacement will resolve all of your issues.
