I don't get how people can overlook the MASSIVE issue with the flat tire cut out on the 360 display. I am one of the least finicky people around when it comes this stuff, but the cutout is so glaring and painfully obvious I don't know how anyone can claim the watch is attractive.

Even with black backgrounds on the display you can see it but use any other color background and it looks hideous. I can't believe people want a round watch face so bad they will overlook the horribly designed display.

No I'm not overlooking that at all. It's horrible. But again, I'm just comparing it to the gear s which is quite possibly the ugliest watch I've ever seen.

The future of the iPod

Am I the only one who thinks the "iwatch" will in fact be the new generation "iPod". The iPod makes up 1 percent of their revenue. What will they do when it drops below 1 percent in a few years? Kill off the iPod line? They have to evolve that product line some how. Turn it in to a wearable. I think this is the answer. iPod. iPhone. iPad. No more, no less. No fourth category of device.

Square shape = fail

I'd take these square shape over a flat tire design any day of the week.

The dual face Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is sublime. And it comes in 38mm.

So is it circular or rectangular?

The rectangular thing looks to be the charger.

Looking forward to tomorrow guys.

Don't forget to breathe...

Don't forget to recharge that thing because then you'll lose the event.

Decent use of liquidmetal beyond a SIM card ejector tool (which replaced a paperclip). Omega's watch looked good - can see Ive getting a talkover manufacturing video spot for it

Very funny.

How much that thing costs?

How much you will pay for an iWatch?

Thank you for your participation.

It basically makes me think the iWatch will look like a rounded corner evolved version of the iPod nano that could be worn as a watch.

I think it's safe to say the iWatch has been development for as long as when Apple noticed people "wearing" their nanos and decided to update it's form factor to an unwearable shape to make way for whatever they're showing tomorrow.

My bet is that the "iWatch" will actually be called iPod and take over the brand.

This makes me wonder if the watch will look like the iPhone's clock app - square but with a round, Mondaine clock face.

Ugh.

You have your numbers way off.

Most watches, dress watches are 38mm. The gentlemen's Pateks and the likes.
The Rolex Datejust is 36-38mm.

Most "toolwatches" are 40mm.

The entire Rolex SS line (with the exception of the newest EXPII).
The Submariner, The SeaDweller, the GMT Master, the Daytona
Omega's Speedmaster, Omega Seamaster are also 40mm.

This is the tried and true formula for over 60 years. 40mm is usually reserved for deep diver's watch and masculine Chronographs.

44mm was introduced in the 1990s by Panerai and picked up by the Hollywood A-List action stars. 44mm is large. Panerai pretty much pioneered the "oversize" market at 44mm.

47mm is an outlier size. The super big Panerais.

The Moto 360 is an outlier size at 46mm. It is definitely not in the norm. It has been compared to the Braun and Movados due to their simple, modernist look. Those watches are 38mm.

The Moto360 is no masculine watch. It can't go 4,000 feet underwater. It doesn't have 3-G anti-gravity and shock resistance used by air and naval tactical forces. Yet, it is in the size of those masculine tool watches.
It size is merely due to the fact it couldn't be engineered smaller.

wow, i haven't seen 38mm men's watches for a long time. most are in the 40-44 range these days. rolex skydweller is 42mm, rolex submariner is 40mm, yachtmaster1 is 40mm, yachtmaster2 is 44mm. AP ROO are 42mm. hublot BB are 44mm. you get the point. 38mm is sooooo 1990... the time i got my cartier pasha (38mm). it's now being worn by my girl. lol.

Does anyone know what this means: “flexible, multi-touch screen will add a new dimension to the UI.” ?
Does flexible mean ‘curved’ or that you can actually bend it in use, and how does that add to the UI?

I'd imagine it relates to the use of the device rather than its construction, e.g. you can rotate it, have multiple UI elements from different apps at the same time etc. As in "a flexible user interface, like MacOSX."

This one looks like it was made in 1920 and it's a very well preserved museum piece. And also something like someone from the Addams family might be wearing. Does it make an ominous bang sound at midnight ?

Not to mention it probably cost a ton, and it's not very functional, basically like a scam watch. It appears it has no seconds hand, no date, no nothing :D
