Can anyone explain to me the purpose of the top status bar turning blue in menu's etc.... keep think im on personal hotspot all the time.

iOS 6 matches the colour of the status bar to the colour of the app you are in.

It's transparent, not blue. The posted above offered a great explanation.

I suspect it's to make the screen look bigger. Black stus bars, particularly on a black phone, look like there's no screen...kinda
