I have a google apps account for my business email. Can I use the Gsync and exchange route to set up my google apps email? Or does it only work for actual gmail accounts?
I am not sure how to configure it. I have tried using my email, plus the m.google.com server, but it says invalid. Not sure if there is a way to do it or not.

The procedure for Google Apps is exactly the same as the procedure for regular accounts. Instead of yourname@gmail.com, put yourname@yourdomain.com for the email and username.
Push isn't enabled by default for Google Apps domains, though. The domain administrator has to enable it before you can use it on your iPhone. That's probably where your trouble lies.
You manage it from the Google Dashboard like all of the Google Apps features. Who you have your DNS account with doesn't matter assuming you set that up when you enabled Google Apps.
There is a setting in the "manage domain" section in google apps. It's under settings>mobile. Just be aware that google servers are having difficulties right now, so you may experience multiple problems.
Be sure to use your full Google Apps email in both the email and user name spots. Mine looks like this myname@g.mycompany.com.
It took awhile for it to go through all the steps to set up- longer than with my work's Exchange account. I'm not sure why, just seems to take more time to communicate with Google's servers. Set up was easy though and it has been working fine.
I just really wish you could set up more than 1 Exchange account on the iPhone...
